GraphQL is a shared effort
GraphQL does not move forward by itself. Every improvement to the specification, its implementations, documentation, tests, tooling, and websites begins with someone choosing to contribute their time and knowledge.
GraphQL Stars celebrates 52 of the people whose work across the GraphQL GitHub repositories helped the project move forward. It brings those contributors out from behind commits, issues, and pull requests, so the wider community can discover the people behind the work.
Where the Stars began
Benjie introduced GraphQL Stars at GraphQLConf 2024 during his keynote, You’re Our Universe: GraphQL Community Update 2024. Looking back over a year of work across the project, he celebrated some of the people improving GraphQL and invited others to help shape what comes next.
That celebration became GraphQL Stars: a new class of contributors, recognised each year.
